Dr. Bart McRoberts, OD

Dr. Bart McRoberts is a 1974 graduate of the University of Waterloo.  He has been practicing and delivering quality eye care on the North Shore and in Squamish and part-time in the Caribbean, for 35 years.

He was the Professional Services Director of TLC The Laser Centre from 1997 to 2000.

He is a Past President of the British Columbia Association of Optometrists (BCAO). He is the current Registrar of the BC College of Optometrists. He served on the Board of Examiners in Optometry and served as Chair for two years. He is currently on the Pharmaceutical Committee of the College of Optometrists of B.C. He serves on two other optometric boards which provide services to optometrists: Optometric Services Inc. in Montreal, and ISYS Medical in Vancouver.

Dr. McRoberts has published articles on ocular pharmaceuticals and laser surgery.

He is a member of the National Glaucoma Association, the Optometric Nutrition Society and the Optometric Retina Society.

Dr. Clark C. Bowden, OD

Dr. Clark Bowden grew up in Calgary, AB where he attended the University of Calgary Biological Sciences.  He received his Doctorate degree from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, MA. Dr. Bowden's clinical rotations included Pediatric Optometry at the New England Eye Commonwealth where he received training in pediatric specific conditions. He also worked in the Veterans Affairs Health System Boston, MA where he gained a broad experience with ocular disease treatment and management. Dr. Bowden also worked as the optometrist for a busy homeless shelter in Boston, MA 2007.

Dr. Bowden was awarded the "Clinical Excellence in the Field Contact Lens Award" in 2007.

Dr. Bowden is also a member of the National Glaucoma Society, the Optometric Retina Society and the Optometric Nutrition Society.

He and his wife Jill moved to British Columbia in 2008 and have enjoyed becoming a member of this great community.

Dr. Simon P. Holland, MD

Dr. Simon P. Holland, MD

Dr. Simon Holland is a specialist in cornea refractive and anterior segment surgery at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, where he is a clinical professor.  He also practices laser refractive surgery at Pacific Laser Eye Centre, in partnership with Dr. David Lin.

Dr. Holland was born and raised in Zimbabwe, Africa and completed specialty certification in Canada (FRCSC) and in the United Kingdom (FRCS) in 1982 and the American Board of Certification in the US in 1984. When Dr. Holland completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of British Columbia he then joined Project ORBIS International (then called Project ORBIS) as a full-time fellow.

Dr. Holland spent nearly five years full-time with the project, serving as the Field Medical Director for four years. He has travelled extensively with ORBIS, including missions to the Philippines, Thailand, India and many cities in China. In 1986 he returned to North America to continue studies at the University of Miami's Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. He continued on to serve as faculty before returning to Canada in 1989. 

Dr. Holland's remains very active in research and his interests include aspects of refractive surgery, corneal disease and international ophthalmology.
